"The SME (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises) fund is a risked based fund to invest in high impact high growth SMEs in various sectors of Zimbabwe’s economy. Focus will be given to investments in exporting companies , companies that are doing import substitution and companies that can scale and increase employment  and or bring new technologies to market .

 

Investments are tailor-made and customized for each SME. The fund is set up as traditional venture capital structure with an initial investment period and an  expected exit after a stated period. SMEs usually fall outside the scope of investment for institutional investors owing to the fact that they are not listed, however they are generally recognised as significant engines of growth and dominate economies everywhere both in the developed world and more so in Africa were they are the majority enterprise."
